About R.M.H.
Rockin' Mountain Hides came about from my love of good-old-tough-looking rocking chairs. The kind that comes to mind when you think of a mountain cabin with a warm fireplace burning. The kind Grandma and Grandpa use to rock you in for hours. The kind you saw in the old western movies with cowboys whittling after a long day. I love the early 1900's Mission or American Craftsman style chairs, the older the better! After giving those wooden frames new life, I finish them with a unique covering of cowhide that complements the oaks' grains and patterns. No two cowhides are alike even if they are from twins so no one will ever have the exact Rocker as you! The cowhides are very durable and when taken care of can last for generations making it the perfect family heirloom. To care for your cowhide Rocker, you just need to either dust with a dry cloth or simply vacuum it.
I've always said, if these old chairs could talk, the stories they'd be able to tell! Since they have managed to survive 100 years or so, my goal is to see that they last another 100 years!
